Artist Demonstration with Sally Meding at the Wellesley Free Library

Please join us for an educational and inspiring evening with WSA Exhibiting Member, Sally Meding, who will share her creative process in a painting demonstration titled “Realism through Abstraction.” In addition to being an accomplished artist, Sally is an equally accomplished teacher. You will be energized by Sally’s playful use of color and shape as she creates her lively artwork. A reception and WSA Fall show awards presentation will begin at 6:30pm, followed by Sally’s demo at 7pm. The demo is free of charge and open to the public. We urge those attending to bring a non-perishable food item for the WSA, Inc. Food Drive for the Wellesley Food Pantry.
More about Sally Meding
A native of London, Sally is a signature member of the New England and Southwestern Watercolor Society. She obtained a PhD in Freiburg, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1990. As a versatile artist , Sally creates mostly semi-abstract works in watercolor on paper. Her artwork is about playing the game of “contrasts” particularly warm against cool, bright against dull and light against dark. She enjoys the challenge of painting a wide variety of subject matter where a “contrast” caught her eye.
Sally has appeared on HGTV “That’s Clever” and is published in Nita Leland’s book Confident Color (North Light 2008) and has taken many workshops with well-known artists including Jane E. Jones, Miles Batt, Pat Dews, Nita Leland, Carl Dalio, Betsy Dillard Stroud, and Mark Mehaffey. She has a studio in Natick, MA and teaches watercolor at all levels in the Metro West area. Sally’s artwork is in private and corporate collections in Germany, the UK, California, Texas and Massachusetts.
