May 1st 2015: Art Programs presented by New England Wild Flower Society
From: Jessica Nugent at Garden in The Woods

My name is Jessica, and I am the Marketing Intern for New England Wild Flower Society, and I wanted to let you know about our new artistic opportunities available at Garden in the Woods, 180 Hemenway Road, Framingham.

**Our Artists in the Garden series, allows artists access to Garden in the Woods before the doors open to the public, and when the light is especially beautiful. Artists are given a chance to photography, paint, draw, and sketch beautiful landscapes, native wildflowers, pollinators, and more.

*Those who want to get back into watercolor, or are new to it, should check out Watercolor in the Garden, an 8 week program starting indoors, and then, moving to the Garden to paint. This course will offer a unique way to express yourself.

For those who are more technically inclined, and want to create digital art our Landscape Photography class will teach you how to find the best composition, understand focal-length lenses, and use depth of field and filters.
*We also offer a class for those who are into DIY culture, with Papermaking with Plants. You’ll be able to learn how to make beautiful hand-made paper from invasive plants, which supports local biodiversity and native New England plants.
*Please feel free to pass this information along to others who may be interested. If you have any questions about our programs, please feel free to contact the Director of Public Programs, education@newenglandwild.org, or by phone, (508)877-7630*3303
Thank You.

Eli Cedrone News and workshops  May 4th, 11th, 18th and June 1st 2015

Wellesley Art Society, 90 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA
The Art Spirit  |  May 4, 11, 18 & June 1  |  Mondays 10-1pm

This class is an atelier experience for the serious student of painting. It offers rigorous instruction in seeing, drawing and painting. We’ll address the correct sequence to working with light and shadow, refining form and shape, and interpreting and understanding color. By mastering the skills of alla prima painting, students progress to create art with depth of purpose and richness in meaning. This class is for students with a working knowledge of the medium and advanced students seeking to improve their skills.

$199. / 4 classes

South Shore Art Center, 110 Ripley Road, Cohasset, MA
Painting from Photos  |  May 8 – 29 Fridays 10-1pm

In this class, we’ll use photos as an inspiration and raw material to compose stronger, better paintings. A photo reference is a convenient aid to artists, but they can also be a hindrance to developing drawing and painting skills. Source photos provide tremendous visual information; we will look at how to weed out what’s necessary from what’s not, and discuss the benefits of photography as a compositional tool. $145M $190NM 4 classes
