Beverley is originally from England. He started painting and drawing as a teenager and is self-taught. Driven by his love of sailing and the romance of the oceans he primarily painted marine scenes. In 1984 he founded the Society of South Coast Marine Artists and opened his own gallery. He sold many paintings, and also had 2 cartoon books published (Rogue Waves, and Straight from The Horse’s Mouth). Royalties from his books allowed him to spend 2 years sailing in the Caribbean and the East Coast of the USA. He settled in MA after meeting his wife in Gloucester in 1989 and now lives in Dover.
His favorite medium is oil but also paints with acrylics and watercolors. A keen yachtsman, he still paints marine subjects but also enjoys painting landscapes with a hint of mystery lurking in the details. His paintings are in private collections in the USA and England.
