Join Us for an Adventure in Encaustic Painting with Hilary Hanson Bruel. Discover the fascinating world of encaustic painting with artist Hilary Hanson Bruel! In this engaging demonstration, Hilary will introduce us to encaustic—a versatile medium made from beeswax, damar resin, and pigment, applied in layers and fused with heat.She’ll share a brief history of the medium and introduce the tools and materials needed to work with encaustic safely. Hilary will then demonstrate some of the techniques she uses in her own work to create beautiful effects of transparency and texture.Come explore this luminous and tactile medium and see how wax, heat, and pigment can come together to create captivating works of art.
